Chesney {4K}

Chesney had her first day of school yesterday.  She did wonderful!  She shed not a single tear before we left.  She did fall out on the playground and skinned her nose up (which did cause some tears) but the rest of the day was all smiles.

Chesney woke up and immediately asked if she could put her uniform on.  She did wait until after her breakfast to put it on though.  I made her a special sunshine pancake for breakfast which she loved!

 Then we got ready to head to school.

Chesney was so excited when we arrived at school.
 She went right to a table to play.  She gave hugs and kisses when we left and went back to playing. Good thing Daddy was along to remind me to be strong or I would have been crying the entire time I was there. And then Brecken started crying and yelling "Ches" over and over again as we walked out.  He may have a little trouble adjusting to mornings without his sister.
 I picked her up at 11 am sharp, and she was still happy as can be.  She did have a new mark on her nose from falling at recess but she was full of stories about her day. Gosh I love this girl.
 We had a special cake for her to celebrate her first day.  (I know, we have cake for everything.  That's just how we do it.)

Below are some of the things we don't want to forget about Chesney at the age of 4.
We are so proud of our little girl!  Here's to a good loooong year of 4K and lots of time before kindergarten hits. Love you peanut!

Chesney {4K 1st Day}

Today is going to be one of the hardest days of my life.  My little girl is going to 4K.  She is the little girl that made me a mommy.  I was her first hug, her first kiss and her first best friend.
Chesney, I never even had a chance you know, it was over from the start.  You completely stole my heart the moment that I looked into your eyes. And now you won't let go.  I would do anything and everything for you baby girl.
 You made us a family nearly 4.5 years ago.
 And you have grown from a crazy haired little peanut into a beautiful girl with a smile that is contagious.

 There's a reason I never sent you to grandma/grandpa's house/daycare when I was home from work.  There's a reason the only night I ever spent away from you was the night Brecken was born (and don't think I didn't try talking daddy into letting you sleep next to me in the hospital bed that night).  The reason is that you are my everything.  I love spending every minute with you.

So we read a special story last night and tucked our little girl in for the last time before she heads to school.

Today I will walk my little princess into school and let her go for a short time.  And I know I will cry (a lot).  But I will remember to wear waterproof mascara because the tears may not end until she is done with school 3 hours later.  Luckily I know that I get to see her a few short hours after I drop her off.

When it's time for college, I may have to enroll with her and sign up as her roommate (I promise not to do that to you, but if you want me to, I absolutely will).  Good luck sweet girl. Go giggle and share your sparkly personality with your friends at 4K.   Everyone deserves a glimpse of some of the pure joy we have experienced over the past 4 years.
Happy first day of 4K peanut!  We love you so much, and you will always be our baby!

Summer Lovin'

Summer has brought lots and lots of fun.
 We've painted with sidewalk paints.

 And made masterpieces.

 We have had picnics at nearly every park in town.
 Watched hot air balloons fly right over our house.

 Went swinging with grandma.
 Hung out with cousins...a lot.
 Had multiple root beer float trips to Culvers.
 Went to Mommy's work picnic which includes fun slides and ice cream treats.

 Helped mow the lawn. You can never have enough mowers.
 Had ice cream, lots of ice cream.

 Played in the dirt.

 Went to the Milwaukee Zoo which the kids loved.  Brecken kept yelling at the animals.

Summer has been good to us and we have enjoyed every second of it...every single second.
