Basketball Hoop

Chuck spent a couple hot days last week setting up a new basketball hoop for the kids.
Day one was digging and concrete.

Handprints in the concrete.  Chesney was first.
 Then Brecken...

 Followed by Mackston.

 And finally Crew.

Handprints starting at 12 o'clock, Mackston, Brecken, Crew, Chesney.
A few days later, the concrete was ready for the rest of the hoop to go up.
Chesney was the first one to shoot hoops.

But the next day, Brecken was up and ready to shoot hoops too.  He may be small, but he is driven.
We have already had a couple late nights of playing ball and I suspect there will be many more this summer.

Coach Daddy

Brecken's regular t-ball coach was on vacation on Wednesday, so Daddy stepped in to be the coach. Brecken was looking forward to this day and was so excited to have Daddy in charge.
Chesney was helping with the batter line up and had all the helmets ready for the players.

This picture is just pure perfection. These kids keep up so busy, but it's these little moments of helping them grow that mean so much.

Coach Daddy did a fantastic job and Brecken sure enjoyed having him in charge.

Strawberry pickin

I went strawberry picking with the kids last Thursday in preparation to make some strawberry jam.
I had some excellent helpers who were eager to pick and eat the berries.

 Mackston did mostly eating.

 Crew was sampling the crop.
One of our two boxes of strawberries.

We got home and made strawberry jam and a strawberry pie.  We ended up with 22 jars of strawberry jam which will make for excellent peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for school this fall.
Crew fell asleep in the middle of our jam making. It's tiring work being a strawberry helper.

Mackston's 3rd Fire Birthday

Today we celebrated Mackston's 3rd birthday with a fire birthday. It was the perfect day for a pool birthday party because the temperature was in the mid 90s.
Grammy, Aunt Kate, Payten and Coy came on Friday night.  They were so excited to catch lightning bugs.
We spent the majority of the day on Saturday in the pool.

And a little time in the bounce house that Grampy and Grammy gave the boys.
Crew snuggled with Kate after his nap.

Ice cream cake was the perfect birthday treat on the hot day.

Mackston had so many nice presents.

And he had to practice casting after he got a new tackle box and fishing equipment.
I think Mackston (and all the kids) had lots of fun.
