Chesney's New Ride

Chesney got a new bike today...and she loves it!
We let her ride it around the house first to see how she did.  When she started weaving around the dining room table, we decided it was time to take it outside.  She has probably spent at least 55% of her day on this bike.  And she loves the baby carrier on the back (which she uses for her blankie).  Sadly, this bike makes her look like a 5 year old.  Seriously, what happened to my baby!?!

Back in the Water

Our pool is finally repaired, and we took advantage of it right away!
Clearly, we are still working on filling it, but that didn't stop us.
Chesney was rocking the pool within a pool. She had fun floating around and sliding down the hippo pool slide.

Father's Day 2012

Today is such a great day to celebrate all Daddy's.  I happen to have the best Daddy ever.  Thanks for always going out of your way to help us and even doing things for us when we don't ask.  I don't know anyone who works harder than you!  You are simply one amazing Daddy and Grampy!
I also have a wonderful father in law who has always treated me like a daughter and went out of his way to help us when needed.  And you can't beat this guy for a babysitter.  He takes the best care of Chesney when we are at work.  Thanks for taking such great care of our little sweetie!  We wouldn't have it any other way!
And to the Daddy of my babies, thank you so much for loving us so much.  Chesney is the luckiest little lady to have you.  She certainly has you wrapped around her finger!  It is so amazing to watch how excited you are to see her every day when you get home from work.
Happy Father's Day Daddy, Grampy and Grandpa!  We love you so much!

Babysiting

Thursday we had a little friend over for the day.  We were babysitting Miss Hadleigh; such a sweetie pie!
Hadleigh is such a laid back little chica, and Chesney loved showing her the ropes.
She was probably wondering why I document every second of every day.  She got used to the camera as the day went on.
Chesney loves riding her bike, and Hadleigh loved riding in the stroller.  Chesney had to stop every so often and tell Hadleigh a story. Maybe she was introducing her to the neighborhood.
We went to a nearby park which the girls seemed to like.  Although the lawn mower at the park was a pretty big hit too.  After some playing, they watched the mower and had a snack.

And then they did a little swimming.  Chesney really wanted Hadleigh to go down the slide, but she was happy just splashing.
So, I neglected to take my camera the rest of the day, but the girls napped after swimming.  Chesney was upset that Hadleigh had to lay down for a nap because she just wanted to play with her for a couple more minutes. So they both napped for a short time.  Then we met some family for a pizza party at Mac's Pizza Shack.  It was yummy, and the girls were loving the pizza, milk in a carton and attention.  By the time we were done with pizza, we were able to fit in a quick walk before Hadleigh's dad came to get her.  We had so much fun with Hadleigh, and we hope she comes back to play soon.

Thursday Fun

I will preface this post by saying my little girl is zonked out, and I'm equally tired!  We had such a fun day today!  After a little morning house cleaning, we packed a picnic lunch and headed to the park.

She played in the sand and on the equipment until a class of about 40 kids showed up at the park. We promptly packed it up and left.

And went straight to Sam's Club for an Icee.
 Are we having fun yet!?!
Chesney took a nap, and then we went to a little splash park in town. Warning: Although it is 7 inches deep, wearing capri pants is not acceptable (unless you want to be soaked).  I speak from experience...lesson learned.
She spent the majority of the time on this whale slide.  I'm pretty sure I had as much fun as she did.  It was wonderful to watch her face light up with excitement.
We will certainly be hitting this area a lot in the next few months.
I so love my days at home with my little sweetie pie.  It's the moments like today that mean the world!

Dairy Breakfast

This weekend we took Chesney to the Rock County Dairy Breakfast.  We had been talking about it all week, and she was pretty excited. Grandma and Grandpa came along too.
The line to get breakfast was about 45-60 minutes long, so luckily, Grandpa and Grandma held our spots, and we took Chesney to check out some cows.

And play in the giant corn box.

The last thing we did before we ate was get Chesney a temporary tattoo...and she despised it.  The second she saw it she wanted it off.  Unfortunately, they do not wipe off, so I just pulled her sleeve down, and she was fine.  But for the remainder of the day, any time that sleeve came up, she instantly wanted it down.  Lucky for me, the neighbor suggested rubbing alcohol which took it right off.  I'm afraid she would have been wearing long sleeves for the next week straight otherwise.  Hopefully she feels this way about tattoos her entire life!

Finally, it was dairy breakfast time. On the menu was pancakes, ham, apple sauce, yogurt, cheese sticks and milk. Chesney was excited to drink out of a milk carton.  I think I laugh and smile at this girl no less than 10,000 times each day.

After breakfast, we took a tour of the farm including a milking parlor (They have 2,900 cows which they milk 3 times daily in 7 hour shifts!), tractors and calves.  I'm no farm expert, but this was a pretty neat farm.  Below, Chesney is checking out a calf (8 are born each day on this farm).
A little bigger calves.  These ones would stick their nose on your hand.

We ended the tour with an ice cream snack.
Chesney really wanted to ride on a wagon pulled by a tractor, so we decided to take a wagon ride back to the car.  We ended up getting on the wagon pulled by horses, which she thought was pretty cool as well.  After about 4 hours of farm time, we were all exhausted.  But she's already talking about going back next year.
