Pre-Halloween

We had a fun weekend with lots of Halloween activities. Friday night we went to a haunted trail in town.  It was a very kid friendly trail with lots of children's stories which were acted out by local high schoolers.  Chesney wanted to dress up and asked if I would as well.   Heck yes I will girl!
Saturday we spent the day playing outside at home because the weather was gorgeous.  Sunday Daddy was in a golf tournament with Uncle Jeremy and Grandpa in Kenosha, so we tagged along to hang out with the cousins.  We went to a pumpkin patch near Allie and Ryan's house which had lots of activities.
They had decorated pumpkins with costumes to look like characters.  They even had Frozen.

The picture below just kills me.  I mean the cuteness is out of hand.

We went on a hay ride around the farm.  The kids were more focused on eating popcorn, but they still liked it.
This place also has a little petting zoo.
And lots of things to play on.  Brecken loved running through the tubes.

The bigger kids got to bounce on this giant mat.

The last thing at the pumpkin patch was a giant hay maze where you can run across the bales of hay.  The kids had so much fun and to my surprise, Brecken loved it.  He was jumping all over the place.
We went to Culvers for lunch afterwards and then back to Jeremy and Jessie's house to let the kids play.  What a fun day!  Thanks for having us Jeremy and Jessie.  We had a blast.

Chesney's School Halloween Party

Chesney had a Halloween party at school today, and Brecken and I went in to help out. These little people were so excited to put their costumes on.  And they all looked adorable.  First they did a parade around the school to show their costumes to everyone.  The first stop was the office where Mrs. Murphy (the secretary) and Mrs. Dillon (the principal) took time to check the kids out.
Then the kids went into each classroom to parade through.  The staff at this school is absolutely amazing.  The pre-K kids totally interrupted lesson plans, and the teachers just stopped what they were doing to ooohhhh and aaahhh at these littles.
This is the morning Pre-K class (there are 8 more kiddos in the afternoon). Elsa was the popular costume.
After the parade, the kids had a snack, pretzels and apple juice.  After snack they played a few games.
The kids loved playing Halloween bingo with candy corn.
They finished the day with a game of find the pumpkin.
I seriously have just as much fun as the kids whenever I am in their room.  And Brecken was so good the entire time.  He was quiet during the parade and ate a bag of pretzels while the kids had snack.  Thanks to the Pre-K kids for having so much fun and letting us join in.

Grand Slammer

Our little guy has quite the arm.  He is certainly seeming to be a lefty, but at 21 months, he can swing like a champ with both a golf club and baseball bat.

Yard Working

Since coming back from Florida we have been getting the yard ready for winter. And we've had lots of help with it too. Last weekend we raked the pine needles up.

And then jumped in them before bagging them up.

We took a short break to swing.
And then it was back to work.  Chesney and Brecken helped Daddy put some grass seed down.  There may be a few areas where the grass grows REALLY thick.

Sometimes we get more help than we expect.  On Tuesday I trimmed the bushes while Chesney was at school. As I was picking up the debris, my trusty assistant had to help out. After a few handfuls of leaves Brecken came back with a double fist full of mud to throw in the bag. And he kept coming back with more. By the time we were done, he had an inch of mud on his shoes, mud on his pants and coat and even mud in his hair.

Yard work has been successful...and fun!

Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day

Today we celebrate all those babies born with wings.  Those babies that watch over us from above.  Although they didn't get to spend any time on Earth or spent very little time on Earth, they have left a big mark on the heart's of those who love them.  To our heavenly babies, we miss and think about you daily.  Thank you for watching over us and your siblings.

Disney Vacation 2014 {Part 2}

Tuesday
We spent the morning at Epcot. First we rode Spaceship Earth, and then Daddy went with Chesney on Soaring while I went with Brecken on the Nemo ride.
Selfie at the aquarium.
Watch out for Jaws in the back!

Chesney and Daddy joined us afterwards so we could look at the fish.  The kids really liked looking at the fish, but Brecken loved it!

Then we took Chesney to meet Belle. We planned to meet a few other princesses but it was a little hot so we headed back to the hotel to swim.

Wednesday

We went to Hollywood Studios for the morning.  We were the first family in line to see Sophia.  We were able to snap a few pictures of Chesney in front of the Sophia castle painting before she arrived.

Chesney got autographs and photos with Sophia and then Jake before heading in for a Disney Junior Stage show.  The Stage show has Mickey, Jake, Doc McStuffins and Sophia.  The kids loved dancing along and watching them.

Hollywood Studios has a snow building area so the kids got to spend a little time playing in the snow.  I was thinking that we came from an area where snow will soon arrive to warm sun and here we are playing in snow!

We then played on the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground for a while.

But the highlight of the entire trip was the Frozen sing along.  It was an amazing show with some great adult humor mixed in.  Chesney sang at the top of her lungs for every song.
A little someone was beat and fell asleep on our way out of the park.
We went back to Magic Kingdom that evening where we rode the Teacups.
Little man was loving the rides!
We also went on It's a Small World and the Peter Pan ride. Chesney checked out Rapunzel's tower.

She also picked a treat from The Confectionery.  Doesn't that treat selection look amazing?!?
She picked a purple sugared Mickey Mouse cake pop.

Thursday

We spent a lot of time playing at the pool and in the sand.  The hotel has water games with a few college aged event coordinators daily.  On Thursday, Chesney decided to play along, and we could not get her to stop.  After about 2 hours we final pulled her away.

After the games, she enjoyed a Mickey ice cream sandwich.
We went to the Magic Kingdom that evening to meet Mickey Mouse.   Brecken hated every second of it.  He screamed his head off until I moved him to my left hip (away from Mickey).
While Chesney and I went to get treats at The Confectionery, Daddy and Brecken were up to this...

This little guy is the king of selfies.  I just love this series of pictures.
Chesney ended up picking an Olaf cake pop.

Friday

Friday was leaving day.  Although the trip went quick, we were already to be back home.
Brecken once again fell asleep on take off but work up about 45 minutes later.  He played some golf on the ipad with Daddy and then stood on the seat taking golf swings and watching out the window.

We got home late Friday night, and the kids were so happy to be back to their toys and beds.
 Thanks for the memories Disney!
