Brecken {22 Months Old}

Brecken is 22 months old.
This is how Brecken is feeling about monthly photo shots.  Only 2 more to go buddy!

You have had a busy month, here is what you have been up to:
Helped with yard work.
Hit the pumpkin patch with the cousins.
Carved pumpkins.
Went trick or treating.
Watched Packer games.  This kid would live in this jersey if he could.  Last Sunday we tried to take it off on Sunday night, and he screamed his head off and clenched his fists on the sleeves to keep it on.  He finally agreed to take it off when we told him he could sleep with it. When we put him in his crib, he tucked it under his arm and snuggled with it.  He's a dedicated fan.

Brecken's 22 month stats:
  • Weight: 21 lbs
  • Length:  32 inches
  • Clothes: You are wearing 12-18 month bottoms and shirts. You are wearing your 18 month sleepers.
  • Shoes: You wear a size 6 shoe (they are a little big but your thick winter socks fit.)
  • Diapers: Cloth diapers with Pampers (size 3) at night.  We have switched you to a size 4 at night because you keep peeing through a size 3 at night.  You go on the potty 3-4 times a day and are usually dry after naps. You pee on the potty before bath.
  • Food: You are a difficult kid to feed  You just want to graze all day and would eat crackers and granola bars all day if you could. You are drinking whole milk and water.
  • Development:  You are really into diggers and lately football. You know the sounds a cat, dog, cow make.
  • Words: You say a handful of words that others can understand and more that we can understand.
  • Teeth: You got your 16th tooth, your lower left canine.
  • Sleep:  You go to bed around 7:00 pm and wake up at 7 am. We have to get you up at 7 everyday now because we have to get Chesney to school. You take a 1.5 hour morning and afternoon nap.  Your morning nap is around 9 and afternoon around 1.
  • What I love about you: You are full of giggles nonstop.  You make so many funny faces, most which involve you raising your eyebrows. You love to raise your hand and yell "I do" to almost every questions we ask.
Happy 22 months sweet pea.  Love you to pieces!

Chesney {Gymnastics}

Chesney decided a few weeks ago that she wanted to do gymnastics.  We weren't sure how it would go because she said she just didn't want to get sweaty.
Luckily she has loves tumbling, balancing and flipping, sweat and all.

It's a great way to burn energy and work on coordination.

Packer Backers

Chesney and Brecken got new Packer jerseys from Grandma and Grandpa before the game last weekend
Chesney was most excited that hers was pink and the length of a dress.
The buddies watching the football game. It was probably the only moment of peace and quiet for the game, and it only lasted a few seconds.
It's so much more fun to watch the games in the right gear! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

A Poopy Situation

This past Tuesday, Daddy was out of town for the night for a work meeting.  Chesney, Brecken and I decided to have spaghetti for dinner.  Since spaghetti usually ends up all over the kids, I decided to take the easy route and have them eat without clothes on. Brecken had just gone pee on the potty so he was without a diaper as well.  We all sat down to eat, Brecken finishing first.  He ran downstairs to play while Chesney and I finished.

When we were done eating, we went downstairs to play with Brecken.  When I got down there, I saw a giant mess.  Brecken had pooped on the carpet, and it was smeared into the carpet in one spot.  I quick grabbed him and looked at his hands and feet which were clean.  Then I cleaned his butt and put a diaper back on him before going back down to clean up the mess.

When I got back downstairs, I noticed there was poop not only on the carpet but splattered on the wood floor next to the carpet.  Then I noticed his golf club laying on the floor with poop smeared across the club head.  Come to find out, Brecken had swung at a pile of poop with his golf club.  And based on the mess spread across the wood floor, I would say he connected.  The only thing you can do at this point is laugh.  So I cleaned up the mess and washed up the golf club.  Later that night when we talked with Daddy on the phone, we told him about Brecken's little golfing accident.  It's just too bad he wasn't home to see his little golfer's mess.

Thanksgiving Feast

Chesney had a Thanksgiving feast at her school today.  Daddy worked from home so he could go with and Grandma and Grandpa joined us as well.  The school kids had made beautiful placements and table decorations.
The meal was amazing, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, corn, turkey, cranberries, dinner rolls, milk, pumpkin pie and pumpkin spice cake. We were stuffed when we left (minus Brecken who spent most of the meal trying to cut a dinner roll with his butter knife).

Let It Snow

We finally got our first real snow fall, and we were all ecstatic. We had 2 kids who woke up thrilled to see so much white.  They couldn't eat breakfast fast enough to get outside. After stuffing them in their snow gear, we headed outside to enjoy the fresh powder.
First snow angel of the year!

Brecken loved being outside.  He would live out there if he could (and he hasn't even seen the snow blower yet, that may be a difficult day to get him back inside).

I pulled Chesney around on the sled for a while, and then the kids decided to play on the swing set.
And then it was back to the front where Daddy was shoveling.  Chesney brought out the snow plow truck.
And Brecken had something we call a snow mower.
We finished our time outside building a fort. We had to scrape together a lot of snow to make it.
Brecken enjoyed a glass of warm milk and Chesney a glass of hot cocoa after all the outside play. Can't wait for more snow days ahead.

Applesauce

I've been meaning to make applesauce this fall and just haven't gotten around to it.  So finally this week, I got some made and canned.
My assistant, Brecken, helped me peel apples while Chesney was at school.  He ate his fair share of apple slices which is good because he refuses to eat applesauce.
Chesney was the taste tester when the applesauce was finished.  It must have been good because she ate 3 bowls. I would consider this applesauce success.

Brecken {21 Months Old}

Brecken is 21 months old.
Here is what you have been up to over the past busy month:
Played in the sand and gravel.
Went for a ride in a digger.
Checked out a tractor.
Had your first dentist appointment with healthy teeth (9-18-2014).
Dressed yourself. The sideways hat and rain boots make me think you may not ready for dressing yourself yet.
Hung out with cousins.
Got spoiled by Grammy.
Took selfies with Daddy.
And took a trip to Disney with the family!

Brecken's 21 month stats:
  • Weight: 21 lbs (I guess being strapped in a stroller for a week straight at Disney helped!)
  • Length:  31.5 inches
  • Clothes: You are wearing 12-18 month bottoms and shirts. You are wearing your 12 and 18 month sleepers.
  • Shoes: You wear a size 4 shoe.
  • Diapers: Cloth diapers with Pampers (size 3) at night.  You go on the potty 2-3 times a day and are usually dry after naps.
  • Food: You are eating a little better, usually eating for meals if you don't graze all day. You wake up hungry every morning.  You are drinking whole milk and water.
  • Development:  You are really into diggers.  You have a digger DVD with all different equipment that you watch nearly daily.  You have a mean golf and baseball swing. Pretty much everything you can hold becomes a golf club, spatulas, shovels and toys.  You love sports and being outside.
  • Words: You say a handful of words that others can understand and more that we can understand.
  • Teeth: You got your 15th tooth, your lower right canine. First dental check-up (9-18-2014)
  • Sleep:  You go to bed around 7:00 pm and wake up at 7 am. We have to get you up at 7 everyday now because we have to get Chesney to school.  No more sleeping in for you.  You take a 1.5 hour morning and afternoon nap.  Your morning nap is around 9 and afternoon around 1.
  • What I love about you: You are so full of energy and happiness.  You are almost always happy and if you get mad, it only lasts a few seconds. You click your tongue when you want a kiss from us or when you give someone else a kiss.
Happy 21 months baby boy! Love you so much!!

Happy Halloween 2014

We had such a wonderful Halloween.  We started on Halloween Eve with pumpkin carving.  The kids helped take the top off the pumpkin and clean out all the gooey seeds.
When Daddy got home, they helped carve the pumpkin while they painted mini pumpkins.

Chesney picked Elsa for the pumpkin design.  And it turned out wonderful.

If you ask Brecken to smile these days, you get the look below. He's a goofball. (I think Grampy makes a similar face).
 The final product!
After pumpkin carving we had a snack and watched It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.
Halloween morning called for pumpkin and ghost pancakes.

After work we continued the Halloween tradition and ordered pizza.  Chesney insisted on eating pizza by the front door, just in case any trick or treaters came.  Luckily we finished before trick or treating started.
Chesney was ready to hand out candy. The special wand came in the mail from Grammy and Grampy along with some candy. Thanks guys!
After she handed out some candy, Chesney decided to get ready to go out trick or treating.
Chesney was Elsa and Brecken was a turtle.

I took the kids out trick or treating while Daddy handed out candy.  I had to get my ladybug costume out because it makes Chesney super happy.
After handing out and eating lots of treats, we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house to show them the costumes and see Great Grandpa.  The kids got a few Halloween gifts/treats that they loved.

The kiddos were beat by the time we got home.  Halloween was lots of fun with lots of treats.
Happy Halloween from our family to yours!
