Baby #3

We are so excited to be adding another baby to our family. Baby Dahl #3 is due on June 8.
Our journey to this baby started back when we had Brecken.  Just like with Chesney, we knew the instant Brecken was born that we wanted another baby.  So we left things in the hands of God.  When Brecken turned one, we decided to go back to the fertility clinic we went to for Brecken.  We met with the doctor in early March.  He told me I had to stop nursing Brecken, and then we could move forward with treatments.  We tried some fertility medications in early May and June with both cycles being canceled as the follicles didn't look right on ultrasound.  So we were asked to take the month of July off.  To our surprise, we ended up pregnant in July on our own but miscarried in early August.  We met with the fertility clinic again in early September and were told we could try treatments again in early October; however, these treatments would have landed right in the middle of our planned vacation to Disney with the kids.  So it was recommended that we wait another month after that.  But God had different plans...in late September we found out we were pregnant again.  And this time things worked out.  I had lots of bleeding in the beginning which appears to be from a vanishing twin.  But after 11ish weeks, things settled.  We have had a healthy pregnancy since that time.
14 Weeks Pregnant
We decided not to tell Chesney until we were almost ready to tell family (around 11 weeks) because we knew she couldn't keep the secret.  She was thrilled from the second we told her, and she told everyone she could. I have no doubt that she will be the best big sister ever!

Early pregnancy was full of nausea and vomiting.  I was nauseated ALL DAY LONG until about 13 weeks and vomited a handful of times weekly. Taking my vitamins, brushing my teeth and drinking any type of breakfast juice made me want to vomit early on.  But since week 14, things have been much smoother. I felt baby move for the first time on December 13, 2014.
 16 Weeks Pregnant
  • How far along: 16 weeks
  • Size of baby: measures about 10 cm— about the size of a avocado and weighs about 100 g.
  • Maternity Clothes: Regular clothes still fit well.
  • Gender: Dying to know!
  • Sleep: Sleeping well aside from using the bathroom a couple times at night.
  • Cravings: Meat, beef in general, and salt.
  • Anything making you queasy or sick?  Pretty much any scent, although it has gotten slightly better. Early on I was praying for a cold so my nose would be stuffy and I wouldn't have to smell any thing. I still hate every scent associated with showering. Soap, shampoo, all of it.  And the smell of hair products is no different.  The worst is Daddy's shampoo though. He smells so clean and nauseating when he gets out of the shower. If I were a superhero, a keen sense of smell would not be my power of choice.
  • Best moment this week: Getting ready to celebrate Christmas with our two littles.
  • What I miss most: nothing
  • Symptoms: Sensitivity to smell, nausea very occasionally
  • What I'm looking forward to: Enjoying this pregnancy with our children.
  • Movement: I felt baby move on 12-13-14 for the first time.  I feel little flutters often.

Christmas 2014

We had some much fun watching the kids have fun on Christmas day.  There is no greater joy than watching the joy children find in the little things.
Chesney was asking for a doll house more than anything else this year and was thrilled with what she got.
And Brecken is very into tools and loved his new work bench.

Daddy got some new tip up lights, gloves and boots.

Mommy got a scooter board for the stroller, shower head, storage shelf and magazine subscriptions.

Chesney and Brecken made this sweet little gift for us (with the help of Grandma and Grandpa).  This will be displayed forever at Christmas time.
Brecken did some work on the doll house with his new tools.
These kids are super spoiled and got a new kiddie snowmobile.  Unfortunately there is no snow this Christmas to ride it.  Hopefully soon!

We were so happy to have Grammy and Grampy here to celebrate with us.

The kids spent the rest of the day playing with all their new toys.  This was such amazing Christmas.  We are looking forward to lots of playtime with the new toys.

Christmas Eve 2014

Christmas Eve started with time at home with these cuties...

In the afternoon we got ready to go to Great Grandpa's house for a short celebration and exchange of gifts.

Grammy and Grampy came in the afternoon as well, so we went home to spend some time with them.  Chesney helped decorate cookies with Grammy.

While Grampy tried to eat all of them.
Grammy and Grampy were nice enough to bring a cake along to celebrate my birthday a little early.

Then it was time for some horse rides.

Chesney wrote a message for Santa.
And then they got treats ready for Santa and his reindeer.
Brecken taste tested the carrots for the reindeer.

The kids had lots of fun getting ready for Christmas.  And the day to follow was even more magical.
