Great Grandpa's 95th Birthday

Happy 95th Birthday Great Grandpa!
We celebrated this special birthday this past Saturday with a pool party!

We had over 25 people to help celebrate this important milestone for such an amazing guy!

After gifts and cake, everyone hit the pool!

I think everyone had a great time celebrating with Great Grandpa!

Happy 95th birthday Great Grandpa, we love you so much!

Chesney's 9th & 10th Teeth

Chesney is finally getting the rest of her front teeth.  Both lower lateral incisors are just breaking through.
We sure are going to miss that 4 tooth grin (and I know we are not the only ones!)

16 Months Old

It's hard to believe we have had 16 months of pure joy from one little princess.

This picture pretty much sums you up, full of energy and spunk!  This is the reason we smile so much!
Here is what you are up to at 16 Months:
  • Weight: 25.5 lbs
  • Length: 32.5 inches
  • Clothes: You are wearing 12-18 months clothes
  • Shoes: You wear a size 4 or 5 shoe.
  • Diapers: We have switched back to regular diapers (we needed a break).  You wear a size 3 during the day and size 4 at night.
  • Food: You are a great eater and snacker. You could probably eat only crackers and milk and be a happy girl.  You tried corn on the cob once in the last week and were able to nibble off a few pieces.  It's hard to eat corn on the cob with only 4 front teeth.
  • Development: You are walking very well and running a lot.  But your favorite thing is to ride your bike with mommy or daddy chasing you. You just figured out how to bend over and look through your legs.
  • Words: You are still a little chatter box.  You can now say no when we ask you about what you want to eat.  It is the sweetest and politest no though.  You shake your head and just say no. You started to say Mommy and Daddy this month instead of Mama and Dada.  Hearing you say that will never get old.
  • Sleep: You still go to bed at about 7:30 every night and wake up between about 7:00 am.  You take a 1 to 2 hour nap in the morning and a 30 minute nap in the afternoon.   You now need to go to bed with two things every nap and night, Mickey and blankie.
  • Teeth: No new teeth this month.
  • What I love about you: It melts my heart when you say mommy.  I wish I could hold you and hug you more often because you are just so amazing.  You smile and laugh so much!  You are truly a gift from above.

Chesney, my little peanut, I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I just love, loving you!

Mickey Mouse

Chesney has a new buddy, Mickey Mouse.  (Thanks to Aunt Tanya and Uncle Jon who found him when they went to Disney a few months ago.)  She asks for Mickey all the time, and if you ask her what Mickey says, she will say "hot dog".  I think this pictures shows exactly how much she loves her Mickey.

Summer Vacation

We spent the last week of June and first part of July in Upper Michigan at Chuck's parent's cottage.  We started the vacation by celebrating at Chuck's cousin's wedding.

Congrats Jessie and Brian!  We had a fabulous time!
 Great Grandma Dahl looked amazing!
Chesney got a little rambunctious during the wedding, so we had to find some entertainment.  (Side note: this was an indoor wedding).
The whole Dahl gang.
The grandkids, Chesney, Allie, and Ryan.
  Our sweet little family.

Chesney was a total ham on the dance-floor.  The pictures do not do justice to the dance moves she put down.  She kept running out on the dance floor and would arch her back and whimper if we tried to pull her off the floor and hold her.

Needless to say, she fell asleep on the way back to the cottage.

The boys decided to put new steps on the cottage as the old ones were pretty steep.  The new ones are so much nicer.  (I don't have a final picture, but there is a handrail too.)
Chesney had such a great time with her cousins.  Poor Allie had a shadow pretty much the entire time.
Chesney liked to help Grandma push Ryan in the stroller.  Then Chesney would walk to the front of the stroller, wave at Ryan and say "hi".
Chesney enjoyed the water for the most part.  She would lay in the tube in the lake and kick her feet.

We also had a pool on the deck.

She attempted to fish until I threw half her pole in the water, and daddy had to rescue it.
Me and my sweet little niece Allie.  Love that little girl!
 Daddy water-skiing.
Chesney did a lot of snacking.  She had a Popsicle for the first time.
And, of course, lots of crackers.
Little man, Ryan, enjoying the lake.  He is such a happy boy!
I just love this picture of him!
Family paddle boat ride (Chesney's first).
 Grandma with her grandkiddos.

Great grandma with the grandkids.
Meet Uncle Jon.  He decided to pose on the deck.  I warned him that this may be on the blog.
Jon took grandma for a ride on his Jet Ski and got her a little nervous going over the waves.

Yes, I know, it's hard to believe they are twins!

We had such a relaxing and fun week at the cottage.  We can't wait to do this all over again next year!

Thankful

It's days like today that remind me how very thankful I am for this little angel
Chesney, you are the sunshine in my day.  Thanks for keeping me smiling!
