Brecken {12 Months Old}

I'm finally getting around to posting Brecken's 12 month post.  My baby is one!

This is a look back at the last month:
Got your first haircut (December 19, 2013).
Started walking (December 20, 2014).
Celebrated your first Christmas.

 Had Christmas with the Grandparents.
Went sledding for the first time at the cottage.
Visited Great Grandma Dahl.
Got in a snowball fight!

Played with cousins.

  • Weight: 17 pounds 6 ounces (3rd percentile).  (I don't think we have a linebacker on our hands here.  Maybe a quarterback or running back.)
  • Length:  29.5 inches (36th percentile)
  • Clothes: You are wearing 6-12 month clothes. You are wearing 12 month sleepers.
  • Shoes: You wear a size 3 shoe.
  • Diapers: Cloth diapers all of the time.
  • Food: You eat almost everything we eat.  You love meat, especially chicken and fish. You drink mommy milk and water.
  • Development: You started talking steps in mid November and walking on December 20, 2013.
  • Words: Dada was your first word followed by hi.
  • Teeth: 1 new tooth, the left lateral upper incisor on January 11, 2014.
  • Sleep:  You go to bed around 7pm and wake up at 7.  You take a 1.5-2 hour morning and afternoon nap.  Your morning nap is around 8:30 and afternoon around 1.
  • What I love about you: You love to play with anything that is not really meant to be a toy.  And you like to get in the middle of anything Chesney is playing with. Now that you are walking, you love to climb too.  You know who your mommy and daddy are and when you need comforting, you find one of us.
Happy 12 months Brecken.  We love you, love you, love you!

Brecken's 1st Birthday Party {Monster Bash}

This weekend we celebrated Brecken's 1st birthday with a monster themed birthday bash.

I handmade his invites to match the party theme.

This was such a fun party to plan and decorate.

I was even able to find a bib to perfectly match his party theme!

The meal consisted of Italian House gondola sandwiches, mostaccioli pasta, garlic bread, fruit, monster cookie dough dip and orange punch.
The monster cookie dough dip was delicious.

 There's the birthday boy!
Lots of special guests to celebrate!

Lunch got a little messy but was just good practice for eating cake.

 He sure enjoyed the meal.
Brecken got so many wonderful gifts.  Sister was a big help in opening the gifts.
Brecken's cake turned out so cute.  I made the monster cake on top for him to smash.

Brecken seemed to like his little monster cake.

It took him a while to figure out what to do with the cake.

 But he did dig in.

And he left that monster cake in pieces.

We had so much fun celebrating with your little monster.  Happy 1st birthday Brecken!  We love you little man!
