Pool: Day 5 & 6

The pool progress has continued, but I'm a little behind.  On day 5 (which was the end of last week), the pool pump arrived.
The plumbing went in and some back-fill was added.
And the jets were put in the stairs and pool walls.
On day 6, the electrical was started outside.  This is the light for the pool.
The coping was added (the finishing edge on the top).
And the insulation was put on the walls.
And the quality control guy was back again to assess the progress.  He runs a tight ship and keeps the pool guys on schedule.
Tomorrow, we will finally start to put some water in the pool!

Pool: Day 4

Today was a fun day to watch the pool construction!  They leveled out the pool first.
And then the BIG truck came!  They poured the pad for the pool pump.

And they put concrete around the drains of the pool.
Lastly, they put a layer of concrete around the outer edge of the pool (the bond beam).
Although these fellas love that I just stand around and watch and take pictures, for some reason I think they are happy that I have to work tomorrow.
The concrete truck was a big hit with the little lady.  She was yelling "beep beep".  And then he really revved it up to mix it well, and she was saying "vroom".
When we got done watching we went to the neighbors house to play with Brayden and Jocelyn. Chesney squeals whenever she catches them playing in their driveway or yard.  I think they might be good pool buddies this summer.
And can you guess what she ate for supper!?! Spaghetti must have been good!

14 Months Old

My sweet angel, you are another month older!
You are so full of spunk and sass!

Mr. Bear is your good buddy and gets lots of hugs and rides in the basket (along with every other toy you can find!)
Here is what you are up to at 14 months:
  • Weight: 22 lbs
  • Length: 31 inches
  • Clothes: You are wearing 12-18 months clothes
  • Shoes: You wear a size 4 shoe.
  • Diapers: You wear mostly cloth diapers (even at Grandma and Grandpa's house...yay!) and Size 4 Pampers or Huggies at bedtime.
  • Food: You stick to a few meals and have a hard time trying new things.  You mainly eat chili, chicken noodle soup, spaghetti, cheesy noodles, homemade pizza, quesadillas, and potatoes on the grill.  You still eat pears, raspberries and blueberries a lot and  you like bananas and strawberries now too.
  • Development: You are now a walker.  You have started walking more than crawling just recently.  It stills makes us nervous to have you walk around on your own because we are afraid you might fall. You know where your eyes, nose, mouth, tongue, ears, and tummy are.  Your hair is so curly, especially with the few humid days we have had.  You are a keen observer of babies (you point at every one you see and yell "baby").
  • Words: Your new words are milk, bike, bear, monkey, Grandma, Uh-oh, tickle, digger, bounce, blankie. You know that a kitty says meow and tick tick for clock in addition to the baa of a sheep that you already knew and beep beep for cars.
  • Sleep: You still go to bed at about 7:30 every night and wake up between 6:30 and 7:00 am.  You take a 1 to 2 hour nap in the morning and a 45 minute nap in the afternoon.
  • Teeth: Lots of new teeth this month including your right upper and lower 1st molars and your left upper 1st molar.
  • What I love about you: Chesney you are a little ball of energy and love.  You play hard every day but always find time to snuggle.  I just love when you smile so big that your eyes squint and your nose wrinkles.
Chesney you are an absolute joy, and we are so happy to get to love on you every day of the week!

Pool: Day 3

Today was day 3 of pool work.  They leveled the panels and bolted them together.
And we got water in the pool, kidding obviously.  We actually had over an inch of rain fall into the pool overnight.  Notice the pump trying to get rid of the water.

Chesney's 7th Tooth

Chesney popped a new tooth through today.  She has her left upper 1st molar now too.  It's no wonder that girl can chew up about anything.  At this rate, she could have a full mouth of teeth by late next week!

Chesney's 6th Tooth

Chesney got her 6th tooth today, her right lower 1st molar.  She now has her two upper and lower central incisors and her right upper and lower 1st molar.  At some point, she will have to grow in some teeth to fill that gap.

Pool: Day 2

Today was day 2 of work on constructing the pool, and Chesney and I were home to watch and document the entire process (which I'm sure the workers just loved!)
They started by unloading the walls of the pool.
Then they did a little more digging and hit the gas line.  I have to say, it was fun watching the energy company guys cut and splice that line though.
 Then the walls went up.
Chesney learned a new word today thanks to these fellas too.  She can now say digger!
 It's a pool, sorta!

They won't be back to work on the pool again until Monday so this is all we have to enjoy for the weekend.  It will clearly be much more enjoyable when it is filled with water.

Pool: Day 1

Today was D-Day also know as dig day for our POOL!  We are so excited that this project has finally started.

So all we have at this time is a big dirt hole.  It's hard to keep Chesney out of it because that is the area she usually plays in.
Tomorrow they plan to put in the surrounding walls of the pool which should be fun to watch.
Chuck and grandpa have also been working hard on remodeling the deck.  I don't have a before picture but there were metal pipes running horizontally, and it looked terrible. I'm loving this new look!

Mouse and Cookie

If you give a mouse a cookie...
 She'll ask for milk-a.
One of Chesney's favorite words right now is milk which she pronounces milk-a.  I just love the way she says that though.  (Just for the record, she is eating a Mum-Mum cracker not a cookie).  And one of her favorite books to read is The Best Mouse Cookie.

She helped me make cookies one day and probably had more fun just playing with all the ingredients.
She mainly played the oatmeal drum and crinkled the chocolate chip bag.
 Check out that technique!
But she did attempt to throw a measuring spoon in the mixer at one point.  You have to have quick hands to be a mom I've learned!  And she managed to sneak a chocolate chip.  She will probably enjoy making cookies even more when she gets a bite or two.

Chesney's 5th Tooth

Chesney got her fifth tooth today; her right upper 1st molar.  This is so odd because she has not even gotten her lateral incisors yet.  She may be popping through quite a few teeth in the coming weeks.  (I'd post a picture of this tooth but it is way back there, and I get bit just trying to feel it!)

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to my special mom!
And Happy Mother's Day to my special mother-in-law!

And most of all, thanks to this special princess...
for giving me a reason to celebrate today...

  And EVERYDAY!
I'm the luckiest mommy in the world!  I asked daddy the other day how we got the best baby in the world, and he wasn't sure how we pulled that off.

Happy Mother's Day!

Chesney's 1st Steps

On April 29, Chesney took her first steps.

Pretty shaky but she has been perfecting her skills since then.  She can now walk across the living room or patio!

 Let the chasing begin!

Guinness Record Baby

Chesney and I became members of an elite group on April 23, 2011; we made the Guinness Book of World Records.  We participated in the Great Cloth Diaper Change which was an attempt to change the most cloth diapers simultaneously (at 11:30 am CST).  There were over 400 locations across the United States and World, but we participated at Nicki's Diapers in Madison.  There were 50 pairs (diaper changer and baby) at our location and 5026 across the world.
Everyone holding up there babies in their "dirty" cloth diapers.
Holding up the clean cloth diaper that baby will be changed into.  I just love Chesney's little GroVia owl diaper!
And what we all came for...The Great Diaper Change!

Finally, holding up our freshly cloth diapered babies.

A group shot of all the changers and babies.
 My Guinness World Record baby!
We had so much fun and ended up winning some reusable snack bags!  Thanks to Daddy for watching and playing photographer.
