Cottage 2013

We spent nearly a week at the cottage in upper Michigan following Christmas.  The first few days were warm, so we spent lots of time outside.  Get ready for picture overload.

 Family sled ride.

 Emma and Uncle Jon sledding.
Grandma and Chesney made a nice big path on the ice.
Poor Brecken is a victim of hand-me-down snowsuits.

Chesney tried to ice skate which did not turn out well.  Maybe next year or possibly on smoother ice with skates her size.

These 3 spent a lot of time together both inside and out.
We built a giant Mickey Mouse snowman.

And a killer snowfort.  Thanks to some sleet, this thing was rock solid.

Chesney took a ride on Allie's back.
We made a visit to Great Grandma Dahl.

I think she was happy to see her great grandbabies.
Back at the cottage, Ryan was the most excited to ride the snowmobile.  But Chesney and Allie did get to sneak in a ride with Jeremy.

On the coldest days, we made gingerbread houses.  Which turned out to be mostly eating candy.

Either way, it was fun and they turned out cute.

We went swimming at a nearby golf clubhouse as well but didn't take any pictures. And we had an indoor snowball fight.  This may have been one of the highlights of the trip.

The kids had a blast. (By the way, I have no idea why my kids are naked and all the other kids have clothes on).

 Matching PJs!

Jessie helped the kids may Gak.

Being at the cottage was a great way to end 2013 and begin 2014.
