Brecken & Chesney's Birthday Party

Over the weekend we celebrated Brecken's 2nd and Chesney's 5th birthdays with a combined party.  The theme was diggers and Barbies.

 

 

 

 Brecken really seemed to like his cake.

 

 And we got cookies to match both themes.

 

 Chesney wanted an ice cream cake so I make her high heel cupcakes.

 But her ice cream cake was delicious.  I'll never complain if she chooses ice cream cake.

 

 

 The lunch guests were looking good in their hard hats.

 

 

 

 

 

 The best part about the construction cake was the inside which looked like caution tape. And this was the best recipe for cake that I have ever tasted. It took a lot of work but was well worth it. Cute and delicious!

 

 

 

 Brecken loved playing trucks with Coy.

 

 And then there was gift opening.  The kids got amazing gifts that they loved.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Since it was semi-nice outside and the kids got outside gifts, we spent the afternoon outside.  Grampy decided to race Chesney on the little bikes.

 

 

 Brecken and Chesney both got new scooters so they took them out to ride.

And Brecken got a sweet new bike.  I can see that summer will be spent outdoors!

The kids had so much fun celebrating their birthdays.  Thanks to everyone who made it so special.

Baby #3 Bumpdate {30 Weeks}

In about 10 weeks we will have a new baby!  I'm beyond thrilled to hold and snuggle a new baby again.

  30 Weeks Pregnant

• How far along: 30 weeks
• Size of baby: measures over 15.5 inches— about the size of a head of cabbage and weighs about 3 pounds.
• Maternity Clothes: Maternity pants and dresses.  To work it is all dresses at this point. I think the maxi dresses and skirts are ready to come out.
• Gender: Boy
• Sleep: Sleeping really well aside a few bathroom breaks.
• Cravings: Fruit, peanut butter, water.  I could eat peanut butter toast for every meal of the day, seriously, this stuff is great!
• Anything making you queasy or sick? I still can't handle strong smells. Most soaps and lotions are nauseating. Old Spice and Tide are the worst smells.
• Best moment this week: Celebrating Chesney's 5th birthday and getting ready for she and Brecken's birthday party.
• What I miss most: Wearing my work dresses. Being able to jump to my feet quickly .I just feel huge.
• Symptoms: Sensitivity to smell, occasional back pains.
• What I'm looking forward to: Getting Chesney's old room painted and decorated and focusing on getting ready for baby.
• Movement: He moves a lot and most movements are big.

Chesney {5 Years Old}

Our little lady is a 5, as in a whole hand, old today!  She woke up with a smile on her face and ran downstairs to start her birthday.  It snowed about 6 inches overnight which Chesney said was great grandpa sending lots of sprinkles for her birthday since he couldn't be here to celebrate.  Since it snowed so much, Daddy worked from home and was able to enjoy all the birthday fun today!

 We started with the traditional pancakes with candles.

 And she was giddy asking about presents.  So of course we had to let her open one this morning.

She got a jeep for her dolls. Brecken yelled "mine" from the time she opened until we left for school.  He was in full tears yelling "mine" after she opened it and wanted to use it by herself for a little while.

 Chesney was super excited to go to school because on your birthday you get a crown and necklace.  And there was a crown waiting on her table when we arrived.  Chesney has the nicest teacher anyone could ask for.  Mrs. Claas is so sweet and patient with these kiddos and always makes them feel special.

Chesney spent the afternoon getting spoiled by grandma and grandpa.  She got a new doll from them that fits in her jeep.  Then we all went to Red Robin for dinner.  And she had to wear the birthday crown and necklace to dinner.  She got a special birthday song and sundae at Red Robin.

Then we came back to the house for cake a a couple more presents.

Little miss blue face enjoyed the cake.

 She ended the night with a few presents, clothes for her new doll and some special birthday calls from family.

• Clothes: You wear size 6 clothes.  You prefer to wear dresses and it's a struggle to get you to wear pants with the dress when it is cold out.

• Food: You like milk, orange juice and smoothies.  You eat a pretty good variety of food but prefer noodles and sandwiches (especially cheese, lettuce and mayo or salami). You still have a huge sweet tooth!

• Sleep: You go to bed at about 7:00-7:30 every night and wake up somewhere between 6:00-6:30 am.  We read a book before bed every night and then say our prayers.  You don't nap.
• Teeth: You have all your baby teeth now and brush them twice daily. You are looking forward to getting a loose tooth.
• Your Favorite Things: You love all things princess and Barbie.  You still love Frozen, legos and organizing anything.  And you still have a love for the carwash. 
• What I love about you: You have such a great imagination and you love to be played with.  You would rather have someone sit and watch you play or play with you than play alone. You are so sweet and walk around singing songs about God all the time (it doesn't get any sweeter). You are great at helping your brother and making him happy.
