Brecken - 6 Weeks Old

My little man is 6 weeks old. 

He has become so alert and likes to smile and coo when his diaper is changed.

 

 He just looks so much older to me.  My little boy is growing too fast.  Brecken sleeps for 6.5-7.5 hour stretches at night.  I think that is practically sleeping through the night.

 I love this handsome little man to pieces!  Happy 6 weeks baby boy.

I snapped a few pictures of my precious 5 week old yesterday.  I just want to remember this sweet little guy at this very point.  He is already growing way too fast.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cooing and Spelling

We have a talkative little bunch over at our house.  Brecken has started cooing (February 21, 2013) and loves to smile.  Here is a little video of him.

And Miss Chesney learned to spell her name.  She kind of sings it because I taught it to her that way since she memorizes songs so quickly.

There are rarely quite moments at our house, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Snow Fun

Chesney has gotten to spend a little time out in the snow over the past few weeks.  Friday, Grandpa came over to snow blow for us and played in the snow with Chesney.

Chesney went sledding down the hill at the end of the driveway.

 And then Grandpa built her a fort in the hill.

 She was so excited and gave me a grand tour when I came out.  She had a chair, refrigerator and closet.

 

 A few weeks ago, I went out to play in the snow with Chesney while Brecken napped.  I pulled her around on the sled for a while and then we moved on to building snowmen.

 

 This is our snowman family.  We are clearly pretty boring snow people with our expressionless faces.

Meeting Great Grandpa

We made a trip out to Great Grandpa's house this week so he could meet Brecken.  Chesney was so excited to go out there because she goes out there often when she stays with Grandpa and Grandma (when I'm at work).  She remembered right away that he has Gatorade at his house.

 

 Brecken was awake the entire time we were out there and got some snuggle time with Grandma.

 

It was so nice for Brecken to finally meet Great Grandpa and for Chesney to spend some time with him.

Snuggles with Daddy

Daddy loves snuggling with his little ones.  And sometimes gets too comfortable while snuggling.

 

 How can you not want to snuggle that sweet little face!?!

 

Cupcakes and Visitors

We have had some really fun visitors in the past week!  Emily (yes, amazing cupcake Emily) stopped by on Valentine's Day and brought, you guessed it, cupcakes.  She was so sweet to bring frosting and let Chesney decorate the cupcakes too.  And if you look close, those cupcakes are heart shaped.  Yup, she's that awesome!

 This week, my friend (who also happens to be my co-worker like Emily) stopped by with her baby girl, Charlee and her little girl, Lu.  Chesney and Lu played well together even though they were a little shy.  Charlee is a little over a week younger than Brecken.  She is such a sweet little cutie pie.  Brecken got all dressed up for his lady friend to visit.

 

There was a lot of arm moving at first.  I think Brecken was trying to put his arm around Charlee.

 And as evidence below, Charlee wasn't having any of it!  I love this picture, and the look on Brecken's face.  Don't worry buddy, there is plenty of time to pick up ladies.

Brecken's Newborn Pictures

Brecken had newborn photos taken by Blue Dandelion Photography when he was one week old.  We recently got the final images back which are amazing.  Such a great memory to have forever.

Brecken - 5 Weeks Old

I can not believe it has been 5 weeks since we first laid eyes  on our handsome little man.  In some ways it feels like it was yesterday but in other ways it feels like we have known him forever.

 He has such a sweet personality and loves to make faces.  We are constantly laughing at the faces he comes up with.  Brecken loves to smile at us and has started to learn how to make noises when we talk to him.

 He is getting up between 4 and 5 every morning, and then goes back to sleep.  His sister doesn't want to miss anything though and gets up around 5:30.  So, Chesney gets a little mommy time while Brecken continues to sleep.  

 Such a blessing this little boy has been!

Brecken - 1 Month Old

My little boy hit the one month mark today.  I didn't realize a piece of my heart was missing until this sweetie was born.  He has had a busy month and learned so much!

He came to his new home (January 16, 2013).

 

At first he slept all the time!

 And then he became more alert.

 He took his first bath (January 17, 2013).

 He worked on strengthening his neck.

Brecken took his first walk (January 29, 2013).

 

He fell in love with his sister.

 

  He learned to smile (February 7, 2013 at 3 weeks old).

 

 And he hit the 1 month mark.

• Weight: Somewhere between 8 and 9 pounds.
• Length: 21.5-22 inches

• Clothes: You are wearing newborn and some 0-3 month clothes.

• Shoes: We have not put shoes on you yet.

• Diapers: Size 1

• Food: Just mommy milk

• Development: You have a very strong neck and hold your head up most of the time when we carry you around.  You learned to smile at 3 weeks and can now smile when we ask you to.  You recognize our voices and turn to us when we talk.

• Words: None

• Sleep: You sleep for 5-7 hour stretches at night followed by a 3+ hour stretch. You wake up once each night.You still sleep in our room.  I moved your sister at 3.5 weeks to her own room, but I just can't part with you yet.

• What I love about you: I love our afternoon snuggles in the chair when you sleep on my chest.  Your smiles are the absolute best!  We just love having a little boy!

 

 Happy 1 month birthday Brecken!  We love you so very much and are so blessed to be able to love on you every single day!
