April Showers

April has brought lots of showers and a few snow showers.  The kids are loving playing in the rain.

Brecken was once again a victim of hand me downs.
He was rocking the pink polka dot rain coat. He's got nice manly rain boots though.

Chesney just loves to play in the rain.  I don't know what it is about rain, but she always asks to put on her rain coat and boots to run out and play.

We are so happy to final have Spring (we could really do without the occasional snow showers though).

Best Buddies

It's so sweet how Chesney & Brecken have become such amazing friends. (Not that they don't have their fights too, but the sweet moments definitely outnumber the fights).  One morning Chesney jumped into Brecken's crib, and Brecken was loving it.
Brecken was happy to have a visitor.
I hope they are always buddies!

Brecken {15 Months Old}

Brecken is 15 months old.  He's a little spitfire.  He loves to get into everything and would rather be outside or climbing onto something.  And we love every single bit of his crazy personality.

He's always busy, but here is a peek at a few things he was up to this past month.
Vacuumed, vacuumed, vacuumed...every second he could get his hand on a vacuum.
Went for lots of bike rides and lots of park visits.
Spent lots of time hanging out with his sister.  And helped her celebrate her 4th birthday.
Hung out with Grammy & Grampy.
Did some rollerblading.
And played in the rain.

  • Weight: 18 pounds 10 ounces (3rd percentile) - Love my little nugget
  • Length:  30.5 inches (24 percentile)
  • Clothes: You are wearing 6-12 month clothes. Some of your shirts are finally getting a little short on you.  It's probably a good thing because you have been wearing the same clothes for way too long.  I'm ready for some new things in your wardrobe. You are wearing 12 month sleepers.
  • Shoes: You wear a size 4 shoe. Your Pumas are actually size 5 now but fall off if we don't strap them super tight.
  • Diapers: Mostly cloth diapers with Pampers (size 3) at night
  • Food: You still love chicken, pizza, fish, grilled cheese and tacos. You eat good sometimes and other times are very picky.  Your not much of a snack eater. You drink mommy milk and water.
  • Development:  You know where your nose and belly are. You are in swim lessons and are doing so great.  The instructor can now push you off the side of the pool and you float up and roll onto your back. You like to look at books but most of the time you are too busy climbing and getting into things. You are so steady on your feet.  You can run and catch your balance if you are falling.
  • Words: Dada, hi, hello. We've decided you are too busy to talk.  You understand an amazing amount of stuff though.
  • Teeth: No new teeth this month.
  • Sleep:  You go to bed around 7 pm and wake up at 7-8 am.  You take a 1.5 hour morning and afternoon nap.  Your morning nap is around 9 and afternoon around 1.
  • What I love about you: You are all boy.  You get into everything which keeps us busy every minute you are awake.  You love to play with the vacuum and cry when we turn it off.  Now you know where the on switch is and will turn it back on.  You love to give hugs and if Chesney is upset, you will go hug her.

Happy 15 months you little ham.  We love you!

Weekend Fun

This weekend we had another party for Chesney; yes number 4.  Good thing everyone is healthy and the partying is over because I am partied out! Chesney was so excited that Allie was finally able to come over.  She had to change her clothes into an outfit that matched Allie.
Ryan decided he would rake up the leaves that fell from our Oak tree over the winter. And then he decided to jump in them. Thanks for the clean up Buddy.

Brecken was just happy to be outside running free.
Of course there were cupcakes (thanks Grandma).

On Sunday we spent more time outside and gave the car a spring cleaning.  The kids wanted to help out, and I wasn't turning down help.  Chesney helped make the inside shiny.
Brecken vacuumed the mats.  Actually, he wouldn't let me turn the garage vacuum off.  Anytime I turned it off, he ran over to it and stood pointing at it yelling until I turned it back on.  Then he would go back to whatever he was playing with.
After cleaning we took our first trip to Cone Zone for an ice cream treat. So excited to have warm weather again. Lots of bike rides and park playing for us!

Chesney's Birthday Party

Chesney has had multiple birthday parties due to a few cousins being sick.  But she is more than happy to have had 3 parties now. Princesses can't have too many parties you know.

The menu consisted of Anna's Chili, Hans Hors d'oeuvres (cheese & snowflake crackers), Sven's Fruity (strawberries), Kristoff's Ice Cubes (blue Jello Jigglers) and Ella's Snow Cap Punch).

The kids burned a little energy after lunch by having a parade through the house.

Then it was time for presents.  Emma helped with the opening.  We had to take a short break because Chesney wanted to read all the books Jon, Tanya and Emma got for her.

Meanwhile, Brecken attacked Grandpa while he took pictures.
Chesney's last gift was an Elsa dress.  Now she has both the Anna and Elsa dresses.  It will be a tough choice on which dress to wear each day.

Thanks for coming down Jon, Tanya and Emma.

And we finished off with some cake.

As a special treat, we had Frozen cookies made by a local lady.  They turned out amazing and tasted even better.

I think our little girl had a great birthday party times 3.  Maybe next year we can get away with one party.  Happy 4th birthday Chesney!
