Brecken {40 Weeks Old}

40 weeks just sounds so old.  We are about 12 weeks away from his birthday, gasp.  I need to take in every moment with my baby while I can (which is usually easy because I am constantly chasing him, taking him off the stairs and pulling him out of the cabinets).
Most of his pictures turn out blurry these days because someone can't sit still long enough to get a picture.
And then he gets exhausted from being repositioned a few thousand times.  Love this little mover and shaker so much.  Happy 40 weeks Brecken!

A Little Sip

Remember a few days ago when I said someone has to do everything on his own?  Well, here is more evidence.  Sometimes he wants to be in charge of his water cup.
This one's for you Grammy.

Brecken {9 Months Old}

You have had a fun filled month with lots of new adventures.  9 months have gone way too fast, but you have made it an absolute blast.
Here are some of your adventures over the past month:
First haircut (September 25, 2013).
Visited the pumpkin patch.

Went on your first plane ride (October 5, 2013).
 Hit the pool.
 Met a princess.
 Made a new friend.
Went on your first carousel ride.
Had a blast on your first Disney trip with your family.

  •  Weight: 16 pounds 4 ounces (5th percentile)
  • Length:  28 inches (36th percentile)
  • Clothes: You are wearing 6-9 month clothes for the most part.  Your jeans are still 3-6 month (only because of the waist).  You are wearing 6-9 month sleepers.
  • Shoes: You just have the pair of shoes I made you, and you rarely wear them.  But I bought you your first pair of Pumas today.
  • Diapers: Pampers Size 2 and cloth diapers when we are home.
  • Food: You started eating steamed pieces of green bean, carrot and sweet potato.  You like your purees a little thicker now. You drink mommy milk and water.
  • Development: You walk behind your push toys.  You can stand for short periods of time but always work your way down to the floor.  You love to crawl over the top of everything, baskets, toys, people. You can drink from a cup.  You have started to cry if Chesney takes your toys away.
  • Words: Lots of babbling with a few dada sounds.  No real words yet but close to getting dada.
  • Teeth: No new teeth this month.
  • Sleep:  You are a great sleeper.  You go to bed around 7:30 or 8 and wake up at 7 or 7:30.  You take a 1.5-2 hour morning and afternoon nap.
  • What I love about you: You are such a happy little guy and such a trooper. You made it through a week in Disney which required a lot of stroller time and were pretty chill about it.  You give the best and sloppiest kisses ever!

Happy 9 months Brecken, you handsome little man!

Disney 2013: Part 2

Day 3
Our 3rd day at Disney started early with a princess breakfast for Chesney.  The breakfast was in the Magic Kingdom at Cinderella's castle.

Look at the beautiful fall decor and how empty the park was at that time.

Daddy and his little princess waiting for breakfast.
Chesney wore her new Cinderella dress for the meal.
Brecken enjoyed the people watching and a little breakfast of his own.  I made all his food, froze it in special bags then had it ride down in the suit case. (Clearly I'm a bit crazy, but it worked so well, and this little guy is worth it!)
Chesney got to see four of the princesses at the breakfast.  First up was Sleep Beauty.

 Next Ariel.
A break from princess greeting to eat.
Then on to see Snow White.

 And finally Jasmine.
The view from the dining room was an overlook of the Magic Kingdom.
Chesney wanted to ride the carousel when we finished eating.  I love riding the carousel.
Then we went to the Enchanted Tales with Belle.  This is a new attraction where you meet Princess Belle.
Two of the three were excited and one was sleeping.

The details in the Belle experience are amazing. Madame Wardrobe talked to the crowd.
Each of the kid's got to play a part.  Chesney was the salt shaker
After you meet Madame Wardrobe, you move to a room where Lumiere helps throw a surprise for Belle.
Each of the kids helps tell a story to Belle, and then she takes the time to meet each of the kids.

She even met with little Brecken.
We went back to the hotel to swim for a bit, until we got rained out (notice the dark clouds in the back).
The kids napped while it rained, and then we went back to swimming.  Brecken thought the sand was fun to play in until he got some in his mouth.
We went back to the park for the Electrical Parade and then called it a night.
Brecken was only allowed to crawl on the bed in the hotel room.  He loved his limited time of freedom to roam the bed.  He quickly learned how to climb the pillow mountain.  By the end of the trip he was doing pull ups on the headboard of the bed.
 Day 4
We went to Epcot on day 4.  There aren't many rides here for young kids so we only went on 3.  Chesney went on Soaring with me.  Then we all went on Nemo and Spaceship Earth in the Epcot Ball.  On the way out of the park, we spotted a character meet and greet where we got to see Mickey, Minnie and Goofy.

Minnie liked playing with the kids.

We went to the Magic Kingdom to grab lunch at the Beast's in the Be Our Guest restaurant before heading back to the hotel.  Lunch was delivered in the cart in the back.
The details were absolutely amazing and matched the story incredibly well. There was "snow" falling out the window behind our table.
We actually ate at this restaurant twice.  This time we ate in the grand ballroom.
We went back to the hotel for naps and went back to the park later to pick up a cupcake...
and some Mickey Mouse suckers (Chesney's favorite).
And Daddy picked up an Ariel cookie for Chesney too.  Looked cute, tasted terrible.
To be continued...
