Christmas Decorating

Christmas decorating happens early in this house (as in early November) because we just can't wait.

Mackston helped decorate a little tree for his room.  Except he tackled the tree when we were almost done and knocked all of the ornaments off.  Boys will be boys.

Our elf, Jolly, came back after Thanksgiving.

Someone lost his Christmas spirit and was trying to cut down the Christmas tree.

Daddy was eating dinner one night and thought he was rubbing Ellie's belly until he looked down to see he was really rubbing the Grinch's belly.
December 1st means the start of Advent calendars.
Chesney's school had a fundraiser at the pizza place one night, and Santa made a special appearance.

Chesney left her letter for Santa.  And then the next day she said she remembered more things and needed to make a second letter.
December 6 is St. Nicholas Day.  The kid's had some special treats and a book waiting by their shoes.

So much fun and joy from these little people during this time of the year!

Please Send Some Snow

Brecken has been listening to a Christmas song called "Please Bring Some Snow for Johnny" for weeks now.  And everyday he asks me when we will get snow. Luckily we woke up last Sunday morning to a snow storm on the horizon.  The kids saw the blue on the radar and couldn't wait to get outside.
So 3 kiddos ate breakfast while the snowflakes started falling and then grabbed their snow gear to head outside. We literally had a dusting of snow when the went, out but they didn't care.

The snow kept falling throughout the day so we went out to Grandpa and Grandma's house at lunch and did some sledding.

They have a perfect sledding hill.
 Brecken tried some skiing.

Mackston helped Daddy plow the driveway.
And then we made some snow penguins and a snowman.

Mackston is such a fun loving kid.  He wanted to be in on the sledding too.

The boys decided to pound the snow off the bushes while Chesney and Grandma made snow penguins.
Tuesday the snow was starting to melt but the weather was perfect for some time outside at our house. The boys had every toy they could find outside.

We made some snow piles with the little snow we had left and went for a bike ride.
This is winter fun is just beginning.  It's so nice to have some snow this December.
