Baby #2 - 37 Weeks

  • How far along: 37 weeks- FULL TERM!
  • Size of baby: measures about 18-20 inches — about the size of a crenshaw melon and weighs 6-7 pounds
  • Total Weight Gain: 29 pounds
  • Maternity Clothes: Mainly dresses and maternity jeans with tops.
  • Gender: We are having a BOY!
  • Sleep: Sleeping good although he does move more at night.
  • Cravings: Chocolate and anything sweet.
  • Anything making you queasy or sick?  Powder scented stuff (I can't stand powder scented deodorant) and any strong scents (although I think this is getting slightly better).
  • Best moment this week: Spending time with Chesney.  Having this guy turned the right way!
  • What I miss most: My energy!
  • Symptoms: Nesting.   Braxton hicks contractions. Tired.
  • What I'm looking forward to: Celebrating Christmas with Chesney and awaiting the arrival of this little guy (this is the week that Chesney was born).
  • Movement: He is kicking at the top of my stomach now that he has been turned.  And he moves tons!  My stomach just rolls with his kicks and at times you can see a foot push out on the side.

Rotary Garden Christmas

Tonight we went to Rotary Gardens to see the Holiday Light Show.
 There were lights galore!

And Santa's reindeer were there (well at least 4 of them).

After seeing all the lights, we went inside to warm up and check out a huge train display.

Snow Day

Today we were all home for a snow day, Daddy too!  After breakfast we went outside to shovel snow while Daddy used the snow-blower.

 My little snow bunny!
 Making snow angels.
Chesney and I built a snowman.  He's a little creepy looking.
Then Daddy built an even bigger snowman.
Chesney warmed up afterwards with some hot cocoa (and about 1/4 of a bag of marshmallows).
Since it was cold and snowy, we thought it was a good day to make some cut-out cookies. Chesney really gets into making cookies!
Someone got a little happy with the sprinkles.  It's hard to find help this good!
And since she's the official taste tester in our kitchen, she sampled a cookie.
Such a fun snowy day and so much fun to have Daddy home with us today!

Flip Flopping

So little man was breech again today at my 36 week appointment, and I am measuring small.  I measure 33 weeks.  He knows I measured small with Chesney, so that doesn't seem to be a big deal at this point.  The doctor talked about doing a version (flipping procedure) and due to the busy holiday schedule, he decided to have me come back a few hours after my office appointment.

Good thing we are ready around our house.  I ran home for about one hour and packed a bag for Chesney and myself and put the car seat, baby's bag and camera in the car (just in case I went into labor or had to have a c-section) and then headed back to the hospital.  Thanks to grandpa for taking Chesney with VERY little notice today!

When I arrived at the hospital, they checked the baby on ultrasound where he is measuring 35 weeks and confirmed he was indeed breech.  After an injection of medication to relax the uterus, the doctor pushed and pulled on my stomach and flipped the little guy head down.  And yes, the procedure is painful.  But it's kind of like labor, after you're done you think "I could do that again."  He said to expect to be sore for a few days and possibly have bruising on my stomach.

I sure hope this little guy stays in the right spot now.  We are getting a little anxious to meet him (especially Chesney).  Chesney was talking to my belly before I left today and said the baby was "packing it up to drive out."  Less than 4 weeks, and we will be going to the hospital in labor.  Can't wait!!

Meet Jolly

Chesney got a new friend this past weekend (after all the girls at work convinced me that we had to get her an Elf on the Shelf).
 Meet Jolly.

Chesney is having a blast with this little guy.  She loves to find him every morning when she wakes up and checks on him throughout the day.  This is such a great holiday tradition to add for our family.

  • Sleep: Sleep good although he does seem to move more at night.

Baby #2 - 35 Weeks

  • How far along: 35 weeks
  • Size of baby: measures about 17-18 inches — about the size of a coconut and weighs 4-5 pounds
  • Total Weight Gain: 25 pounds
  • Maternity Clothes: Mainly dresses and maternity jeans with tops.
  • Gender: We are having a BOY!
  • Sleep: Waking up with nausea a few times a week because little man's head is pushing on the stomach.
  • Cravings: Chocolate and anything sweet. Water in the middle of the night.
