Chesney's 2nd Birthday Party

Today was Chesney's 2nd birthday party. Her party theme was Minnie's Bowtique.
The invitation:

She woke up to a new rocking chair that Grammy and Grampy made.
She rocked in her chair and played with her toys while we got ready for the party.

  The dessert plates.
The birthday girl.
The napkins...wrapped bow shaped, of course.
The menu:
Minnie’s Bow Tie Pasta
Pluto’s Garlic Biscuits
Donald’s Submarine Sandwiches
Goofy’s Gooey Popcorn
Pete’s Gooey Fish Jello
Daisy’s Bow-berry Punch

A little love for Auntie Sarah.
 Present time!

This cute little doll center came in nearly a million pieces.

Chesney got a table and chair set that Grandpa and Grandma made.

After presents, we had cake, cupcakes and ice cream.

It was in the high 60s today, so we spent a little time outside letting the kids ride on the bikes, play ball and throw the bean bags.

We ended the afternoon putting together the doll center.  Oddly, the ladies ended up putting the entire thing together aside from Grampy helping with a couple things at the end.  It took over an hour to put together, but it was well worth it.
 The finished product!
Chesney had so much fun celebrating her birthday, and we had just as much fun celebrating with her.  Happy 2nd birthday princess.

Chesney's 2nd Birthday

My baby girl is two years old!  We had a busy but fun filled day with her.  She asked for her birthday party hat right after she woke up and sang "Happy birthday to me" about 20 times.
After making a few treats, some sweet friends came over to play.  Jocelyn and Brayden are our neighbor kids and are two of the sweetest kids I know.  They are stinkin cute and always so nice to Chesney.  And today I learned that they have a sweet tooth like mine!
Chesney was a little excited to see them.

Jocelyn and Brayden (and Marie and Brian) got an umbrella and rain coat for Chesney.  She carried the umbrella around for the majority of the day and was wearing the rain coat after nap. She is loving her new rain gear.

After a nap, we got ready to go out to Chesney's favorite restaurant, Red Robin.  We grabbed the mail before we left, and Chesney got a card from Grammy and Grampy.  She opened the card which played "Happy Birthday" and was instantly in love.  She had to bring the card to Red Robin with us.

The wait staff sang to Chesney and gave her a balloon.
We came home to sing to Chesney and have some cake before snuggling before bed time.

Tomorrow we will celebrate again with Chesney's birthday party.  Happy 2nd birthday Chesney!  We love you, peanut.

One

Today is my baby girl's last day of being one.  It is so hard to believe how fast this time has gone.  It feels like yesterday that we were driving to the hospital in labor.  And now, my little miracle is almost 2!
Chesney, you have changed so much in the past year.  At the end of year one, you weren't walking and now, you are walking, riding a bike and talking up a storm.  I'm always so sad to see you pass milestones and get older, but people have always told me that kids get more fun as they grow.  I'm a true believer now!  I am so in love with this stage (as I have been with every stage).  It is so fun to have you sing songs, tell stories and run up and hug us or tell us "I love you" for no reason at all.

We love you so very much!  Happy last day of one Chesney!
(I'm crying as I write this last sentence, just proof of the fact that I'm still sad to see my baby pass milestones)

Hot Streak

The weather has been amazing lately, which is to blame for my blogging hiatus.   I have been soaking up every minute of this weather with my baby girl.  It is so wonderful to be able to go to the park.  And now that it is light out until later, we can hit the park after work too.

We had such a fun weekend!  And every great day starts with great breakfast.  We made waffles this morning.  Chesney is really into helping stir now.
Since it was so nice out, we washed all 3 cars and cleaned the inside of the SUV.
We went for lots of bike rides, played with the neighbors and played ball.

I love these two to pieces!
Grandma and Grandpa came over for dinner and a little playing in the backyard tonight.

We are so looking forward to the week ahead with our sweetie and celebrating her birthday at the end of the week.

Potty Trained

Do you know why this girl is so happy?
Because she wore her big girl underwear to bed last night for the first time and woke up dry!

We have been working on potty training Chesney since she was 18 months.  We had lots of success during the day from the beginning.  She stopped wetting at nap time probably 6 weeks ago and has been dry at night consistently for a couple weeks.  So, we got brave last night and let her wear her underwear to bed.
We are so proud of our little girl for being fully in under-roos!

Happy 30th Birthday Daddy

Today is the birthday of the best husband and daddy in the world!  And it's a special birthday, his 30th!
We celebrated with our peanut and Grandma and Grandpa last night.  And we will continue to celebrate tonight as well.
Chesney was pretty excited because well anything with cupcakes is exciting for her.

We had special cupcakes, hamburger cupcakes.  Charlie and his twin brother, Jon, talk about the hamburger cake often.  Well they don't make the cake any longer, but they do make cupcakes.
Chesney got up this morning and called Daddy to wish him a happy birthday.  Then she asked me if we had candles, balloons and decorations.Tonight when we got home, Chesney and I made cupcakes.
She was quite the helper and did a lot of quality control.

I made the frosting before work this morning.  While we were making cupcakes after work, I asked what color we should make it.  Any guesses on what she decided?

He was pretty happy to come home to a sweet birthday treat.  And probably shocked they weren't pink.

Happy 30th Birthday Daddy.  We love you so very much!
