Houdini

I went to get Chesney out of her crib this morning and this is what I found...She had wiggled her way out of her swaddle blanket (which was wrapped tightly with her arms wrapped snug) and out of her sleeper! And as you can tell she wasn't too happy about it!

1 month check-up

Chesney had her one month check-up today. She is growing great! Her measurements are in the post below. I'm not looking forward to her 2 month check-up because she will get shots then.

1 Month Old

Chesney you are one month old today! You seem to be growing very fast, but have brought so much love and joy in your one month with us.Here is what you are up to at 1 month:

• Weight: 6lbs 9.6oz (1.77 percentile) on April 23, her 1 month birthday, 7lbs 10 oz (8.81 percentile) on April 26 (I'm guessing the April 23 weight was a little off because she could not possibly gain 1 lb over the weekend)
  
• Length: 21 3/4 inches (70.96 percentile)
  

• Clothes: You are wearing newborn clothes, and your feet are just starting to reaching the bottom of the newborn sleepers.

• Shoes: Your newborn shoes don't fit yet. (It's hard to teach you how to accessorize when you can't wear shoes!)

• Diapers: Newborn size

• Food: Just milk

• Development: You recognize my voice and daddy's too. You just started opening your mouth like you want to have a conversation when I talk to you. No smiles yet but you are getting close. You have your eyes open for longer periods of time every day which means more time to talk and play with you.

• Words: None

• Sleep: You sleep for 3-5 hour stretches. You wake up about twice each night. We moved you from the pack-n-play in our room to your crib in your nursery at 3 1/2 weeks. I cried the first few nights because I missed having you by my side all the time!

• What I love about you: EVERYTHING! I love to watch you sleep in my arms. I love how you smile when you are just about to fall asleep. I don't know what you are dreaming of , but it must be good. I love it when you sleep on my chest.

Chesney you have filled our lives with so much love and joy, and we are so excited to watch you grow! We love you so much peanut!

Happy Birthday Grammy

Chesney is now 16 days old! I can't believe how fast time is flying. She is such a good little baby that I can't even believe it sometimes. She is waking up about 2 times each night but goes right back to sleep after eating.

She is now spending more time with her eyes open. I think she is starting to know my voice and daddy's voice too!

We would like to wish my mom (grammy) a very special birthday today. We love you very much!

She's Here

Our little girl arrived 2 weeks and 1 day early which was a very good surprise. I sprung a water leak at 2:45am followed by a large gush at 4:55am. We arrived at the hospital at 9:00am. Chesney Sue Dahl was born at 3:33 pm on March 23, 2010 weighing 6 lbs 3 oz and measuring 20.5 inches. She had a head of dark hair which I am absolutely in love with along with the cutest little nose.

She is now 9 days old (time flies) and such a good little baby. She only wakes up 1-2 times a night and usually goes right back to sleep after eating. During the day, we usually catch a nap together in the chair (one of my favorite times).

She isn't quite fitting into newborn clothes yet but she should be there in the next couple weeks. Right now she looks like she doesn't have legs when you put her in a newborn sleeper. But she is so snuggly and loves to curl into a ball in your arms.

I'm so excited to have my little girl finally, and so in love with her.
